TOM MISCH SOUTH OF THE RIVER

Tom Misch has been ominously quiet this year. After a flurry of activity which spawned Beat Tape 2 and Reverie EP, we’ve only had his 5 Day Mischon to tide us over, leaving the path clear for sibling Laura and her jazzy Playground LP to shine. There’s no cause for panic, as Misch has just dropped a new track, 'South Of The River'. In addition to his left-leaning soul, ‘South Of The River’ sees Misch experiment with elements of classic disco and features a spacey keyboard solo from Rob Araujo and some savage violin stabs from Tobie Tripp. Despite his fetish for collaboration, which has seen him feature Loyle Carner, Jordan Rakei among others, it's a testament to Misch's musicianship that every release stays true to his character and sound, never losing an inate sense of "Misch-ness". We can't wait to see where Misch's ceaseless energy for collaboration takes him next. -HM
